The Physician Coaching Institute is accredited by the International Coaching Federation

in Physician Coaching Insights

The Physician Coaching Institute is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) to provide coaching education.  Graduates of the Certified Physician Development Coach training earn 80 coach training hours (CCEs); participants in our Healthcare Peer Coaching Fundamentals earn 15 coach training hours (CCEs);  and participants of the Certified Healthcare Leader Peer Coach program earn 30 hours. The ICF is the most widely recognized authority on coach training accreditation and has strict criteria for schools to achieve the distinction of “Coach Education” provider.

The Physician Coaching Institute was founded by Francine Gaillour, MD, MBA, FAAPL, CPE, PCC who has been a professional coach since 2003. As an accredited coaching school since 2008, the Physician Coaching Institute is distinct in being the first program developed specifically to train professionals to coach  physicians and  healthcare providers.

Our goal is to equip coaches with advanced coaching concepts and tools–whether you are internal to your healthcare system or an external coachto more expertly address the challenges facing physicians.   We are proud that our ICF-accredited curriculum has evolved over the past fifteen years to reflect not only changes in healthcare that impact physicians, but also…who’s becoming a coach! Health systems are taking note that professional coaching is a must-have resource for their providers in order to foster well-being and resilience—- research backs that up! It is truly gratifying to hear from our coach graduates about the impact  they are making with their community physicians.”
