Connect Collaborate Inspire 2023: The PCI Coaching Conference October 20-21, 2023

Connect Collaborate Inspire 2023: The PCI Coaching Conference

It was fantastic to see many of our grads in person on October 20-21, 2023 for our Connect Collaborate Inspire 2023 Coaching Conference. The PCI team along with a group of grad volunteers  developed an informative and enriching agenda which earned rave reviews from the ~40 attendees.

Goals for the Event

First, we wanted as many grads as possible to meet each other in person!  Not just those of you who were unable to come together during Covid, but also those we haven’t seen in a while.  We want to get to know more people in our grad community (and as people, not just coaches), discover our shared interests, passions, and whatever else that makes us connected — and unique!  Second, there is so much expertise among our grads—YOU are trailblazers for coaching in healthcare, for physicians and for the healthcare team.  We wanted to learn from your stories of success (and experiments) and foster dialogue for potential collaborations.  Third, we wanted our grads to be inspired to take first steps or continue momentum—whether your forward movement will be around expanding your marketing plan, finding a new collaboration partner, advancing your coaching skills, or moving out of your comfort zone.

In addition to the formal program, we had opportunities for potential informal gatherings with a Thursday  “Welcome Hour”. And then Friday evening about 30 grads met at 5 restaurant for more networking. groupings.  After the program o Saturday afternoon, there was a tourist outing to the Seattle Pike Place Market.

A BIG Thank you from Dr. Gaillour

Hello dear friends and colleague

I trust you made it back to your homes safely—and if you are like me, you are still basking in the glow of connections made and inspiration gained from the conference.  Seeing all of you in person was like emerging into brilliant sunshine and a colorful 3-D world! Here is a big Thank You again for those who made our PCI Connect, Collaborate, Inspire 2023 a resounding success: *   Wendy Cohen for her leadership as the “planning committee” chair, and being my wing-person and collaborator over the past several months as we crafted the agenda and recruited speakers. *   Tina Simpson and Wendy Ward, for contributing to the forward energy and handling the facilitation, along with with Wendy C, over the two days. *   Joe Sherman who gamely guided a few colleagues on Saturday afternoon to the Seattle waterfront and Pike Places Market. *   Jackie Huntly, who brought her years of experience and wisdom to her Keynote and invited us to step in to our own wisdom and self-leadership. *   John Pope, who stimulated our thinking about group/team coaching, with an organized approach that inspired all to give it a try. *   Ed Millermeier, who shared his journey of impact with one team, and demonstrated (once again) that PCI Capstone Project dreams do come true *   Wendy Ward, who added to our knowledge of internal coaching, with ideas for how to also manage internal collaboration among coaches. *   Jenny Reese, who was not able to attend after all, but sent her stimulating presentation on group coaching and invited all to reach out for questions. *   Sarah Samaan, who reminded us of how integral Mindfulness is to coaching, for us as coach as much as for our clients. *   Leann Benedetti, who invited us to look at physician coaching through the lens of trauma-informed coaching concepts, and shared her journey is finding her niche. *   Corinna Muller, who’s ideas and lessons learned about marketing gave many a “light bulb” above the head moment *   Chris Miller, who inspired us to consider an idea of comprehensive coaching of near-retired physicians, for a joyful and soulful shared journey. *   Sera Miller, who provided a cornucopia of frameworks and open-ended coaching questions to offer physicians who are challenged with time-energy. *   Sancha Robinson, who shared a novel coaching model to support physicians who stress as they prep for board exams. *   Nada Hamad, who shared a coaching approach with Fellows to support their engagement as well as their employment post-Fellowship. *   Francine Gaillour, who facilitated two coaching activities, one for Connection and one for Envisioning–two processes the grads can also try with groups at home. *   Noelyn Alabado, PCI Media Assistant, who for eight months so ably assisted with registrations, reminders, and overall project management. *   Nikki Villanueva, PCI Program Assistant, who also fielded questions and assisted with conference loose ends. *   All of the Attendees, who brought your heart, soul, and learner’s mind, with the intention of being “in-spirit” with each other as we created community.
