Through our work together, you will develop attainable goals that align with your values, As a result, you will create a path forward that is personally and professionally meaningful and fulfilling.

Background and Experience

As a cardiologist for over 27 years, I worked to heal, educate, and empower thousands of individuals to achieve optimal health and well-being.  After working through the first 2 years of the global pandemic, I retired from medical practice in 2022 with the intention of pursuing my other life passions.

When I started medical school at Vanderbilt in 1984, the sea changes that would rock the medical profession were just a blip on the horizon. Having worked through the advent of managed care, RVUs, EMRs, and the current era of internet-driven disinformation and scientific skepticism, I have experienced and been a part of the profound shifts in healthcare. I have also been extremely fortunate to practice in an age of revolutionary progress.

As a full-time practicing cardiologist, I was fortunate to be a member of a diverse and highly skilled team of physicians. However, as a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) and a competitive equestrian, I have always understood the importance of work-life integration.

When I decided to leave clinical practice to pursue other passions, including furthering my academic education in the visual arts, I worked with a Physician Coach and experienced the power of coaching first-hand. That experience motivated me to become a coach myself. We all take different paths, and I am excited to work with you to chart your own unique journey.

Education and Credentials

I am a Master Certified Physician Development Coach certified through Physician Coaching Institute, an ICF-accredited coaching school. I am also certified in Mindfulness Coaching through MVP,  a school accredited through the Yoga Alliance, and Time Management Coaching  through IAPCC. I practiced in the Dallas, Texas area from 1995-2022, and was a Physician Partner at the Heart Hospital at Baylor Plano until my retirement.  Over the years I held leadership positions, including Chief of Medicine and Chief of Cardiology, at other busy hospitals in my community. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and especially enjoy teaching Yin yoga. I am also the author of four nationally acclaimed books on heart health and diet, and a medical writer for GoodRx. I compete regularly with my horses in the equestrian sport of dressage and have earned the USDF Silver Medal.
