Dr. Eric Lloyd Newsom is a lifelong learner and leader. After years of informal professional coaching engagements in his various leadership roles, Dr. Newsom pursued formal coaching education through The Physician Coaching Institute. Eric completed Dr. Francine Gaillour’s prestigious Advanced Certification Program and has become a Certified Physician Development Coach. He makes time in his schedule for formal coaching arrangements with select clientele who are fully engaged in their individual quest for personal and professional development.

Eric strives to create an environment of inner peace and safety which allows for deeper self-exploration with each client. Education

MD, MMM, CPE

Dr. Newsom has a wide range of medical practice, administrative, and leadership experience. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Kent State University and attended Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine where he graduated with his Medical Doctorate in 1993. Dr. Newsom completed residency training in Family Medicine at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio where he served as Chief Resident. Upon completion of his training Dr. Newsom practiced Emergency Medicine and he was elected by his peers to serve as the Department Chair. During his 15 years in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Newsom completed the American College of Physician Executives Certified Physician Executive (CPE) program and obtained his Masters in Medical Management (MMM) degree from Carnegie Mellon University in May of 2012.


Experience

Dr. Newsom has been a member of the Board of Directors of Muskingum Emergency Physicians since 2001. In addition, he served three years as the President of the Medical Staff at Genesis Healthcare System in Zanesville, Ohio and was a member of its Board of Directors. Dr. Newsom is a member of The Board of Directors of Quality Care Partners (QCP), a regional PHO in Southeastern Ohio. Eric is employed by Genesis Healthcare System as their Physician Advisor and serves as the Medical Director of Occupational and Employee Health Services. Dr. Newsom is the Executive Director and Clinical Integration Medical Officer for Ohio Integrated Care Providers (OICP), a newly formed clinically integrated physician network in Southeastern Ohio.

Clinically, Dr. Newsom currently practices Occupational Medicine. He has a wide range of clinical background including Emergency Medicine (15yr), Urgent Care (6yr), and Occupational Medicine (14yr). He has worked in a variety of practice settings and employment models such as independent contractor, solo practitioner, private medical group, and fully employed.
