Expert Overview

Overview: As a practicing physician, the idea of dedicating time I barely have to reflect on myself and goals, and the pathway to achieve them, was a foreign concept. But the coaching relationship encourages physicians to take on the important commitment of time and effort to reflect on where they are now, and where they want to go in the future.

Client and Coaching Focus

I support physicians and physician teams who need partnership in moving forward with career goals or practice roadblocks; whether you are considering a change, or looking to find confidence in a current endeavor. I provide clients with 4 program options with the following focus areas: resilience, communication, professional development, and women in medicine.

Background and Experience

As a practicing surgeon and critical care physician, I see first-hand the importance of job satisfaction, effective communication and personal resilience for myself and my colleagues. I began work developing a Physician Wellbeing Program within my institution, Co-Chairing the Physician Wellbeing Committee, and serving as the Director of Physician Wellbeing starting in 2021. I came across coaching as a way to further develop myself to effectively and positively support my colleagues during challenging times in our career.

What started as an introductory to coaching to further develop a peer-to-peer support program, ballooned into a passion for coaching as a means to strengthen job satisfaction and resilience of both my colleagues. My training as a Certified Physician Development Coach has given me the skills to focus on the needs of other physicians to support their success.
