I coach physicians who want to rewrite their story in healthcare by providing a supportive space to explore their passions, values, and aspirations. Together, we can turn feelings of disillusionment with practicing medicine into energetic, visionary change--whether you're seeking more fulfillment in your current role, more leadership, or a new career path entirely.
Dr. Christie Mulholland is an experienced palliative care physician and a passionate advocate for healthcare well-being. She is a Certified Physician Development Coach, trained through the Physician Coaching Institute, and is working towards her Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). As an Associate Professor at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine, she serves as the Director of the Faculty Well-being Champions Program, guiding over 40 well-being champions from over 30 academic departments to design their own wellness programs. She serves as an internal coach at Sinai in addition to her private coaching practice, Reclaim Physician Coaching. She has led initiatives to improve physician well-being by optimizing electronic health records, increasing mental health support, and fostering community at work. Dr. Mulholland believes physicians are uniquely positioned to lead cultural and systemic change in healthcare. Her coaching approach is rooted in self-awareness, presence, and attentive listening, gained through her personal journey with psychoanalysis. Christie lives in New York City with her husband James and their rescue pit bull, Brindi—they enjoy fitness, exploring restaurants, and spending time in nature.
Dr. Mulholland is a highly qualified physician with extensive training in internal and palliative medicine, holding a Doctor of Medicine from Jefferson Medical College (2014), and having completed internal medicine residency at Jefferson (2017) and a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital (2018). She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Spanish from Pennsylvania State University (2005); she is no stranger to reinventing herself, having begun her career in social work before becoming a "nontraditional" med student. Board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Hospice & Palliative Medicine, she received the Excellence in Public Health Award from the U.S. Public Health Service Physician Professional Advisory Committee. She has presented nationally and published her work through Mount Sinai's Office of Well-being and Resilience, and is a teaching faculty member with Mount Sinai's Well-being Centered Leadership course. Her background, certifications, and contributions demonstrate a strong foundation in medicine and a commitment to well-being.
