Healthcare Peer Coaching Fundamentals™ program receives AAFP CME approval.

in Physician Coaching Insights

Physician Coaching Institute (PCI) is proud to announce that our Healthcare Peer Coaching Fundamentals™ program has received approval from the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) for 15 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) in the category of Prescribed* Credit.

The Healthcare Peer Coaching Fundamentals training is for physicians, providers, and healthcare team members who want to learn foundational coaching skills of peer-to-peer support. In this immersive 2-day live online course, participants learn a proven peer-coaching model that is aligned with professional coaching ethics and competencies— skills the participant can begin using right away to support their physician colleagues. Completion of this course also meets the prerequisite for joining our advanced level training, the Certified Physician Development Coach™ program.

*The AAFP has reviewed Healthcare Peer Coaching Fundamentals, and deemed it acceptable for AAFP credit. Term of approval is from 05/13/2022 to 05/13/2023. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

*AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.
