Healthcare Leader Peer Coach — Certification Training

The Physician Coaching Institute is pleased to offer a skills development program for healthcare leaders. Created in response to the common hurdles clinical leaders face when engaging and communicating with their peers, this 4-month training program equips leaders with specific coaching competencies to improve their personal effectiveness, promote authentic communication, and positively impact their organization.

Unlike typical classroom leadership courses that focuses on business, finance and operations, the Healthcare Leader  Peer Coach™ is developing emotional intelligence and authentic leadership presence, qualities that enable the leader to foster a culture of transformation:

  • Leader as highest self: Is self-aware, other-aware and engenders trust
  • Leader as partner: Fosters shared values, purpose and accountability

The training cohort commences with a 2-day in-person Kick-off. A distance-learning segment follows with live webinars twice a month over 4 months. The program concludes with an in-person Capstone.

Eligibility for Participation

The training is appropriate for a Physician, Nurse, Pharmacist, or other allied health professional who is currently in a leadership role (e.g. Chief, Chair, Director, COO, CEO, CMO, CNO, CMIO, CNIO, VP).

Certification and CME

Participants complete a PCI Proficiency Portfolio throughout the course of the 4-month training. Successful completion leads to the Certified Healthcare Leader Peer Coach™ credential.  CME credit is also available through the organization (TBD).

Program Faculty

The Healthcare Leader as Coach™ certification training program was developed by Francine Gaillour, MD, MBA, FACPE, Executive Director of the Physician Coaching Institute. The Physician Coaching Institute is accredited by the International Coach Federation and has been a provider of professional coach training since 2004.
