After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, I completed medical school at UTMB in Galveston. I completed residencies in Internal Medicine (Austin) and Neurology (University of Washington), with Fellowship training in EEG and Epilepsy (also in Seattle). Since then, I have been rooted in Austin, Texas. I was in clinical practice in a large, multi-specialty clinic, and then I had a solo practice. I made a mid-career transition in 1998 to the life of an independent consultant. I currently serve as the Chief Medical Consultant to the Texas Department of Disability Determination Services. I loosely supervise and mentor 80 professionals (physicians and psychologists).

I have had long-standing interests in leadership, human development and performance, language and the brain. My work as a supervisor and mentor of other physicians led me to seek ICF coaching certification, and I completed this through the UT-Dallas program. I am working on completing the MS degree in Organizational Behavior through UT-Dallas. I plan to expand my coaching business and have a focus in health care.
