Over 40 years in health care, I know firsthand that change is constant. The only way to consistently succeed is to make the most of the opportunities embedded in the challenges that lie before you. I have a passion for helping health care leaders manage the change that pervades today’s chaotic health care environment. Change that will accelerate as the new federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is implemented. I want physicians not only to survive, but to thrive – not only as individuals but as members of complex health care organizations.
Client and Business Focus:
My company, The Delta Collaborative, specializes in working with physicians and other health care leaders in Michigan. Our network of experienced professionals serve both as consultants and coaches. We focus on supporting today’s health care leaders in regaining control of their often chaotic professional lives — not only to improve performance, but also to create a more balanced life-style. We assist both individuals and organizations in adapting to today’s ever changing business requirements, while still focusing on the delivery of excellent services.
I created The Delta Collaborative as an innovative coaching and consulting firm built on my professional experience. Typically, we work with executive level physicians and CEO’s in a variety of organizations. As coaches, we empower these individuals so they can effectively manage their professional responsibilities. As consultants, we provide leaders with the skills needed to adroitly manage change. In reference to this, we have a model program which is designed to assist clients in learning about and effectively executing change. The program addresses the five core strategies that must be mastered to be successful.
Background and Experience:
Over the past 40 years, I have consulted with and coached physicians and other health care leaders operating in a variety of professional roles and work situations. For example, I have worked with medical societies, hospitals, health care organizations (HMO’s) educational institutions, government organizations at all three levels – federal, state and local – and Foundations. I am conversant and experienced in a number of areas: leadership, change management, program development and implementation, and working effectively with governors and legislators.
Education and Credentials:
I have a B.S. degree in Human Ecology and Communication Arts from Michigan State University, a Masters degree in Public Health Planning and Administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and a Doctorate of Public Health as a Pew Scholar at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. I am a certified physician development coach and have been trained as a co-active coach by the Coach Training Institute. I am also engaged with the College of Executive Coaching, and through it, will become credentialed by the International Coach Federation.
I am a member of the following organizations: International Coach Federation (ICF), Professional Coaches Association of Michigan (PCAM), Academy Health – focused on health policy and research, The American College of Health Care Executives, The American Public Health Association, The World Future Society, and Inforum – a state organization serving the needs of women executives.
I am happy to speak with you about your consulting and coaching needs.
